Amy Martin

Amy Martin has served the residents of Glen Rock through her tenure on the Glen Rock Borough Council since 2014.  She is currently the Council President, having previously served in that role in 2017.  In addition to her regular service on the Council, Amy is currently the Council Liaison to the Department of Public Works, Ridgewood Water, the Thielke Arboretum, and is the Co-President of the Arts Council of Glen Rock.

A 1996 graduate of the Tisch School for the Arts at New York University, Amy previously acted and directed numerous theatrical productions.

Caroline Unzaga

Caroline Unzaga was appointed to the Borough Council in January 2020 to serve out the remaining term of Mayor Kristine Morieko.  Since her appointment, Caroline has worked on the Council’s Division of Planning, Development and Public Building and the Division of Licenses and Franchises, in addition to her regular service on the Council.  Caroline also serves as the Co-Chair of the Glen Rock Stigma-Free Task Force.

Caroline and her family moved to Glen Rock in 2017 after her husband Jay was named as the Sixth Pastor of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Glen Rock.  Caroline’s life has been focused on faith and service to her community.  Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Caroline graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2003, and proceeded to serve as a Chaplain Assistant working in Argentina.  After completing her mission, Caroline returned to the United States to study at the Princeton Theological Seminary obtaining a Masters Degree in 2009.  Caroline’s service since has included working as a Chaplain in the Veterans Affairs system as well as the New Jersey Psychiatric Hospital system, working to protect and improve the mental health of patients and staff.  Currently, Caroline is the Interim Pastor of Wyoming Presbyterian Church in Millburn, New Jersey.

Jon Cole was born and raised in Glen Rock and first met his wife, Jane Steuerwald, while attending kindergarten at the Coleman School.  Jon has two children, Elizabeth and Robert.

Jon’s diverse background includes the Merchant Marines, traveling much of the world as a deckhand on cargo ships, after which he taught high school English for five years.  He returned to Glen Rock in 1992 and was subsequently drawn into the world of software development, creating a company that sold its primary copyright to Computer Associates.  For over 20 years, Jon has worked as the Chief Information Officer for a company in the reinsurance industry.

Jon has worked to serve Glen Rock and its residents in a number of capacities.  He served on the Glen Rock Board of Education for 12 years, from approximately 1995 to 2007, including serving as President for three years and serving on the Executive Committee for 9 years.

Jon has also given back to Glen Rock through his efforts as one of the original trustees of the Glen Rock Assistance Council and Endowment (“G.R.A.C.E.”).  G.R.A.C.E. was founded on September 12, 2002, to support the surviving families of the eleven Glen Rock residents who lost their lives on that day.  Since then, G.R.A.C.E. erected the 9/11 memorial located in Veteran’s Park and runs the annual Tribute Run/Walk to honor those who were lost.  The Run/Walk raises funds to maintain the 9/11 memorial. As the Chair of G.R.A.C.E., Jon leads the borough’s 9/11 remembrance each year and has served as a trustee of the charitable organization every day since its founding.

Amy, Caroline, and Jon look forward to bringing their thoughts and ideas to the residents of Glen Rock over the coming weeks and months leading into the election.  They are also looking forward to hearing the thoughts, concerns, and ideas of Glen Rock residents throughout this campaign and beyond.  To that end, Amy, Caroline, and Jon are planning to announce soon dates and times for virtual town halls and similar socially responsible efforts to campaign and to hear the voices of Glen Rock and its residents.  For more information, please feel free to contact Amy, Caroline, and Jon at [email protected]
