10:41 AM – A borough resident reported that she parked her vehicle on Stonefield Road near Salem Court and when she returned to it, she discovered that her trunk was slightly open, and her doors were unlocked. The victim reported a theft of a Garmin GPS unit from her glove box but nothing else was disturbed.
7:47 AM – The GRPD and GRFD responded to West Pamrapo Court on a report of a car fire. Patrol found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames upon their arrival, which the GRFD was able to extinguish. The vehicle was completely damaged in the fire, along with some landscaping nearby. The exact cause of the fire was not able to be immediately determined and there were no injuries reported. 8:49 AM – Patrol responded to Wilde Park on a report from a jogger of a suspicious male that the caller felt was following her. Patrol checked the area for the male, described as a Hispanic male wearing a blue shirt and a backpack who reportedly fled north on Maple Avenue on a bicycle, with negative results.
9:33 AM – Patrol responded to Prospect Street near Cornwall Road on a report of a rollover MVA.
A 28-year-old Union City, CA woman was driving her 2020 Toyota Rav 4 north on Prospect Street when it failed to negotiate the curve and veered off the roadway, struck a utility pole, and rolled over onto its roof. The driver got out of the vehicle on her own before patrol arrived. An ambulance responded to the scene to evaluate the driver, who was uninjured and refused medical attention. A witness that was driving behind the vehicle reported that it was traveling at the speed limit and not driving erratically before the crash.
10:58 AM – Patrol responded to Diamond Court on a reported dumpster fire. The GRFD responded and found a smoke condition emanating from the contents of the dumpster. The condition was cleared, and no injuries were reported.
