Tropical Storm Isaias hit Glen Rock and leaves hundreds without power

Aug 04, 2020 11:46PM ● By Simon Toffell
Ahead of the storm, Governor Phil Murphy placed the state of NJ under a State of Emergency after the whole state of NJ was put under a Tropical storm warning. Around lunchtime of Aug 4th,  Tropical storm Isiasis hammered Glen Rock. The storm lasted about 3 hrs but left her mark bringing down tree branches, uprooting trees, bringing up sidewalks, snaping a gate at the mainline Train station, and knocking out power to many homes around town.

After 3 pm the storm was racing to the north hitting Vermont that was placed under a Tornado warning. Some places in NJ saw peak wind gusts of over 100MPH. Glen Rocks' peak wind gusts were around 62 mph.

Thanks to everyone who sent in photos from the storm to join the pictures that we took driving around taking photos of the storm. Enjoy the storm photos. Please stay safe. We will get through this.

PSEG is reporting a restoral date of 8/9 or 8/10 across the town. Let us hope that is wrong and we get it back on earlier.
