Welcome to Glen Rock News Today (GRNT) the newly enhanced, hyperlocal news website for Glen Rock, NJ. Let me introduce myself, my name is Julie Maxwell Allen, Publisher of GRNT. I grew up in Glen Rock, NJ and graduated GRHS in 1988.
Over the years, as I traveled and lived away from Glen Rock I had continued to want to stay informed about events going on in the hometown I loved. Anyone who has lived in Glen Rock knows it is a distinctive family and community-oriented small town despite being situated in a vast suburban environment. I used to follow and blog on The Glen Rock Patch along with many other former Glen Rockers to stay current with what was going on in town. I loved how local the Patch was and because of this I wanted to recreate a web site similar to what we had a few years ago with the Patch but keep it focused strictly on Glen Rock. Four years ago I launched Banana Tree News, named after the famous Kilroy’s Market banana tree, which eventually grew into Glen Rock News Today.
